Boost Lab Safety & Research Integrity By Eliminating BSC Contamination

October 24, 2023 | 2 pm ET / 11 am PT

As a laboratory or facilities manager, do you wonder if you fully understand the scope of contamination risk in your biological safety cabinets (BSCs)? Do you feel comfortable with your current contamination policies and programs? If not, you’re in good company, as this requires very specialized training and experience. Unfortunately, what we don’t know as managers can hurt us—and our operations.

Typically, managers know how crucial appliances such as BSCs and clean rooms are for successful R&D and production. However, in many life sciences, healthcare, higher education, and other organizations, administrators don’t fully understand the implications of an unclean workplace. But the reality is that contamination is a relentless challenge. Contamination infiltrates labs and other workplaces via many means, including mislabeled materials, cross-contamination, and soiled gear. It can strike any operation.

Left unchecked, contamination can lead to:

  • Unsafe work environments
  • Compromised clean rooms
  • Degraded overall machine performance
  • Interruption of operations
  • Extensive and costly repairs
  • Damage to expensive intellectual property
  • Shortened appliance life
  • Loss of experiment reproducibility

These conditions can harm even the largest corporations and can seriously injure startups. This why it’s key to understand the presence and threat of contamination—and how to stop it before it becomes a problem.

This webinar will address:

  • The many causes of contamination
  • The benefits of a solid decontamination program—including potential operational ROI
  • How to detect contamination and eliminate it
  • Ways to create a full, dependable BSC decontamination program
  • When it makes sense to find a maintenance partner
