Reproductive Hazards in the Lab: How to Stay Safe

March 24, 2026 | 2pm ET / 11am PT

Reproductive toxic materials are known hazards to safety professionals, especially in the R&D and healthcare spheres. Acute and chronic reproductively hazardous chemical exposures impact Total Worker Health and can have lasting impacts on health in all people. Regulatory agencies have provided evidence of reproductive toxicity and the associated risks—but despite awareness, risk quantification is lacking, and thus the most appropriate safety controls are not always implemented. As such, if they wish to keep their teams safe, EHS workers and organizations bear the burden to formulate a new method of managing the risks associated with acute and chronic exposures to reproductive hazards and set appropriate limits.

Anyone dealing with reproductive hazards—or managing those that do—must be able to:

  • Properly identify the hazards of chemicals in the workplace
  • Determine reproductive hazard levels and assess impact
  • Spread awareness of the hazards
  • Understand the proper controls to mitigate risk
  • Implement a reproductive health program for exposed employees

Join Carrie Colbert at this upcoming webinar to learn more about:
  • Specifics of the hazards that exist, including relevant dangers and common use cases
  • Proposed or safe "limits" for reproductive hazard exposure
  • How to protect yourself and your team from reproductive harm, including PPE, safe handling, training, and general reproductive health program implementation
  • And more!
